By launching World Efficiency Motors, Hoyer Motors is now offering more possibilities to global OEMs. The new range of motors is designed to meet various requirements for efficiency and mechanics across markets.
“We’ve developed a motor that can be used in most markets. The motor is particularly attractive to our global OEM customers who want to optimise their supply chain and use the same component across their key markets. It’s an international motor that complies with international standards,” says Ketil Vesterlund, CCO, Hoyer.
All over the world
You can use a World Efficiency Motor, regardless of whether you plan to sell your unit in Germany, Australia, China or the US. The motor is approved in accordance with the following local provisions and regulations and can also be used on all unregulated markets.
GEMS / IE3 – Australia and New Zealand
CCC / IE3 – China
CEL grade 2 / IE3 – China
CE – EU and EEA
IEC Ecodesign / IE3 – EU and EEA
JIS / IE3 – Japan
KEMCO / IE3 – Korea
NEMA Premium – North America
UL & CSA – North America
EAC – Russia and EACU
In addition to complying with local Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS), the motor complies with other types of regulations, such as in North America where it is also approved by UL/CSA, which requires special components from the entire insulation system to the terminal box.
The motor complies with efficiency requirements on electric motors across these markets. This is possible despite different voltages, which require a specially designed insulation system.
Options in the supply chain
The fact that OEM customers can use the same component in different markets gives them more options for optimising their supply chains. Ketil Vesterlund explains:
“Having the one motor design enables our customers to provide the same product quality and documentation package across markets. Depending on their production setup, this can also minimise their internal inventory of various motor types. In so doing, our goal becomes to simplify our customers’ procurement and quality processes and thus support their focus on the supply chain.”
